Mexico 07, Day 4 wrap up

The students on our team have really been servants today. Several sites had trouble building the roof trusses and the students had to build them and then tear them apart because they were not right. This was discouraging, but the students just kept on plugging away.

Also today, there were many new kids at VBS, and at our sites. Our students are showing the love of Christ so clearly that many children are drawn to the sites to meet them and play with them.

Today a five year old girl names LizySoccorro came to talk to Emily and I. She was amazed by our cameras and watched us take many pictures. Finally she grabbed emily's camera and took pictures of us. After each picture she would show us the screen and then tell us in spanish, which we do not speak, all about it. She then started taking pictures of her friends and family on the site and then showing them the pictures as well. It was really cute!

Tomorrow we are going to have a day off from building to spend time at a beach and market. We are looking for stuff to buy for the families we are building houses for and we are relaxing. That means we will not be at the worksites and will have lots of work left to do on friday. Please pray for safety tomorrow and productivity on friday.

Tonight I read your comments to the students and they were moved that you were praying and caring for them. They are experiencing God in so many new ways. We had a large group sharing time, and they shared for almost an hour about all they had learned about God from being in mexico this week. It is so exciting to see young students loving Jesus, and loving others.

God Bless,

Amazing isn't it? How powerful a group of middle schoolers can be? I remember when Jordyn went and how transforming it was for her. The blog is a great idea to keep everyone updated! Praying that your day of market and rest was full of opportunities to draw close together and reflect and also allowed time to unwind and process what they are experiencing. Peace.
