Even though we live in a free country, we are in captivity to so many things. We are slaves to fears, insecurities, emotions, expectations, materialism, entertainment, achievement, and more. Sometimes it seems like we are also slaves to our social situations. Nerds hang with nerds... cool kids hang with cool kids... people hang with other people like themselves. This is just the way it is... but don't you wish it wasn't. Wouldn't it be so cool to be somewhere where labels and expectations didn't matter. Where people felt free from insecurity caused by fear of failure or weakness. Where people could break free from their personal captors and really live... A place where even the pull of sin could be overcome. This place is exactly what Jesus was talking about...Hebrews11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2 This is what the ancients were commended for. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible...
6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
